I have been busy working on the
Christiansburg Issues pages that I almost missed something important....but first, to set the context for that 'something important', let me tell you about the Issues pages. At the request of readers, I started going through the copies of the Town Council and Planning Commission Meeting Minutes, the Christiansburg Town Code, and the Christiansburg Comprehensive Plan doing a 'search' of specific terms/words related to issues that citizens felt were important. As I did the search, I did a simple 'cut-and-paste' from those documents and put them in one location. I have been expanding the list of "Issues" as I receive more requests from citizens. Please remember that I obtained those public documents via FOIA requests to the Town of Christiansburg (at a costs to me of around $1,200.00 total) and I posted those on a website so that any one who wants to can see those public documents because they were not made available by the Town. I also began recording Town Council and Planning Commission Meeting Minutes (first audio only then video). I even got a thank you from the Mayor when he was able to correct something in the minutes by going back and listening to one of the recordings. All of those documents and recordings are available at the website:

Now, to the 'something important' thing.
WHO IS THIS CLOWN? is the most recent entry at the blog Think, Christiansburg! The irony of this is that whoever the person is that wrote this and sent it out with the request to please pass it along to friends was doing exactly what he/she accused others of doing. The internet is a wonderful tool when in ethical hands. The email makes a lot of assertions without any proof to back it up. Certainly, whoever wrote it did not do much (if any) fact checking. I hope that the author of the email will take the time to go back and look at some of those documents and recordings online, it may help him/her to either find data needed to support allegations or enlighten him/her to the possibility that a 'different' version of the truth exists.
As I have often said here, don't take anyone's word for things, not mine or anyone else's unless you can look at documents or other resources that give you the information in context and as accurately as possible.
When you are making up your mind about who to vote for, do the research needed to form your own opinion. Nobody needs to tell you what your opinion is and what your vote should be. That is entirely up to you!!!
Just DON'T FORGET TO VOTE!!!!
