On the Citizens Information Page (http://historiccambria.com/Town%20Information.htm), there is a list of links on the left-hand side. By clicking on the one labeled survey, you will be directed to a list of surveys that are being done to provide information from citizens/visitors to the Christiansburg Town Council and Planning Commission members.

The top entry on the list of surveys is one entitled:

Visitor and Citizen Event/Festival Survey

You can participate in the survey by either clicking on the above link or using the one on the web page.

Why is this information important? One of the things the Town Council has worked very hard at doing is keeping property taxes down for residents. One of the best ways of doing that is to focus upon activities that generate revenue for the Town through other means (i.e., meals tax and lodging tax). The simple act of finding how what activities/events are most likely to affect those sources of revenue can be an invaluable tool for Town Council. Finding out ways to improve on those events/festivals in order to increase participation, provides government officials with the information needed to make decisions about days, time, parking issues, advertising, and many other areas that can have a significant effect on that bottom line, TOWN REVENUE!!!

Taking a few minutes to do the survey could mean a great savings to all. My thanks to all who have already participated. If you can, please let others know so that they can participate as well.
